About us

The Oxford Editors is a leading international literary consultancy, based in Oxford, dedicated to helping writers. The Oxford Editors was set up and run by authors in order to help writers who might not otherwise have access to help from professional writers, editors and publishing experts. We provide support at every stage and in every genre with services such as manuscript feedback (assessment), mentoring and editing. We are here to give you the help and advice you need to write your book, screenplay, thesis or article. If you write, we can help.

In fact, our services can take you from that blank page to your book launch.

The Oxford Editors also helps authors find agents and publishers or to self-publish. We can also promote your book online and to the press. We provide a wide range of editorial and assessment services to writers, agents and publishers.

Our editors are published authors, successful screenwriters, ghost writers, copy editors and proof readers, who will pass on years of writing and publishing experience to help you make the best of your work.

We work with new and established authors from every country, in every genre and of every ability. Each writer is important to us, from the young boy or girl who want a mentor to help write their book to established authors who want a second critical eye run over their work before a publisher gets hold of it.

The Oxford Editors also has a strong academic editing tradition and can call on experts from a wide range of disciplines to help our authors. We have worked with writers published by Oxford University Press, Harvard University Press, Yale University Press, and many more.

We offer manuscript assessment (feedback) for fiction, non-fiction and academic books, screenplays, plays and poetry. However, there is a lot more; we also provide re-writing, copy editing, proofreading, ghost writing, on-line writing courses and one-to-one mentoring.

If it is feedback you need, our editors will produce a detailed, honest and practical assessment of your manuscript, tailored to meet your needs. We are all writers so we understand the needs of the market and the shifting trends in publishing and we will pass on all that knowledge. If you write, we have the editorial and publishing services that you need.

I was very pleased indeed with the help I got from The Oxford Editors so I would definitely recommend their services. They are widely competent and experienced in the whole process of publishing, from writing to the publishing itself, so I’d advise anyone who wants a steer or advice (as well as a “done for you” service) to go to them.

When writing a novel a writer should create living people; people, not characters. A character is a caricature.
